Owen Sound police seize drugs and weapons.

Owen Sound police officers have taken a variety of illegal weapons off the streets.

On Sunday, May 10, 2020, uniform members seized an illegally obtained rifle, as well as another rifle with a sawed-off barrel, drugs, and thousands of dollars in cash.

Jeffrey Parkes is charged with a total of 12 Criminal Code offences and held in custody after appearing in court.

On Tuesday, May 12, 2020,  officers who had an arrest warrant found 25 grams of crystal methamphetamine, three grams of potentially deadly purple fentanyl, as well as cash proceeds of crime and an illegal conducted energy weapon.

Karlie Greatrex, 30, of Owen Sound, is charged with numerous weapons and drug-related offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
