ABCA predicts heavy rainfall this long weekend

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) is forecasting a potential of 75mm of rain over the Victoria Day long weekend, and flooding is possible.

The heaviest rainfall is expected to come in two waves, with the first coming Sunday afternoon, lasting till Monday Morning, and another rainfall is expected Monday afternoon. Based on current weather and stream flow forecasts, major flooding is not anticipated at this time, however the chance is greater in low-lying areas.

Residents are reminded to use caution near all watercourses.

This message will remain in effect until Wednesday morning.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
