Grey Bruce weekend COVID-19 report

Grey Bruce Public Health has reported two new cases of COVID-19 including one staff member at the Grey Gables long-term care home in Markdale.

Both cases were reported on Sunday. All staff, residents, and family members of the care home have been notified of the case.

“We’re taking this positive test result seriously. Physical distancing strategies and intense infection control protocols are already in place to prevent transmissions in the home,” said Jennifer Cornell, Grey County’s director of long-term care.

So far, no other residents at Grey Gables have tested positive, but an outbreak declaration will be made if a positive test result is confirmed.
