Owen Sound Police kept busy

Owen Sound Police were kept busy over the long weekend.

Friday evening, officers were called to the area of the Owen Sound Library for a complaint of a man who allegedly "displayed himself inappropriately" to a teenage girl.

Officers arrived and found the 71-year-old suspect in the driver's seat of a vehicle. Police accused the man of being impaired by a drug and arrested him without incident. He's charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, indecent act and having cannabis readily available to the driver.

Around 8 p.m. on Saturday, Owen Sound Police got a report of a possible impaired driver entering the city. The driver was stopped on 16th Street. The 27-year-old driver was arrested and samples showed he had nearly three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system. He is due in court in July to answer to impaired driving charges.
