Seaforth golf pro facing charges for historical sex crimes

A member of a well-known golfing family in Seaforth is facing historical sex charges in connection with events that allegedly took place over 20 years ago.

The Huron County Ontario Provincial Police said 61-year-old Cameron Doig was arrested on Tuesday. He is now charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference, two counts of invitation to sexual touching, sexual exploitation, and voyeurism.

The charges were laid in connection with incidents that allegedly took place in the '90s when the victim was a teenager. Police said Doig was a supervisor and golf instructor to the victim during this time period.

Doig has since been released from custody with a future court date in Goderich.
