Suspect arrested after fleeing from police in Saugeen Shores

An Owen Sound man faces a long list of charges after an investigation that started in Port Elgin and ended in Georgian Bluffs.

On Sunday morning, Saugeen Shores police were checking plates on a vehicle and it was determined that it had been reported stolen in Georgian Bluffs. Officers tried to stop the vehicle on Goderich Street but it sped away, almost hitting two cruisers. Police were able to identify the driver.

Just after 1 p.m., members of the Grey Bruce OPP located a suspect at a motel in Georgian Bluffs.

A 34-year-old faces several charges including possession of property obtained by crime, flight from police, dangerous operation, operation while prohibited, and failure to comply with a probation order.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
