Police lay charges following pill trafficking investigation

The Owen Sound Police Drug Enforcement Unit have laid charges against an Owen Sound resident following a drug investigation.

On June 4th, Owen Sound Police executed a search warrant at an east side apartment where the accused resides, and once inside police seized oxycodone pills, cash and a cellular phone. They also seized more than 6,000 unmarked and illegally possessed cigarettes.

The 68-year-old resident of Owen Sound has been charged with Trafficking Hydromorphone and Possession of Oxycodone for the purpose of Trafficking. Additional charges under the Tobacco Tax Act are pending.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 6th to answer to the charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
