Police lay assault charges after victims were threatened with a knife

Perth County OPP have laid charges following a recent assault in North Perth.

On June 4 just before 4 pm, officers responded to a report of a person threatening people with a knife in a parking lot off of Inkerman Street West in Listowel.

A suspect, who is known to police, was located a short distance away by officers and promptly arrested without incident.

As a result, the 44-year-old accused of no fixed address has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and uttering threats. The accused has been released and has a court date scheduled for a later date in Stratford to answer to the charges.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
