On Wednesday, officers responded to the collision on Road 144 at Perth Line 55. The investigation revealed the vehicle was travelling northbound on Road 144 when the driver lost control and went into the ditch before colliding with a cement culvert.

The driver and only occupant, a 27-year-old Perth East resident, was not injured.

The driver is now charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams, and not being accompanied by a qualified driver while holding a G1 licence.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Stratford court at a later date.
