Seaforth search warrant leads to drug and weapons charges

A half-dozen individuals are facing drug possession charges following a recent investigation conducted by the OPP.

On Thursday, June 18, 2020, members from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Huron-Perth & Grey-Bruce Community Street Crimes Units (CSCU) and West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at a residence located on Main Street North in Seaforth.

Police officers reportedly seized small quantities of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl and prohibited weapons consisting of 12 shuriken stars and a butterfly knife. Further, stolen property consisting of identification cards and credit cards was also seized.

Police say four Seaforth residents aged 29 to 52 face various weapons, drug possession, and possession of property obtained by crime charges.

A 28-year-old Mitchell resident faces drug possession charges, and a 26-year-old Perth East resident is charged with possession of meth and a prohibited weapon.

All accused have since been released from custody with court dates scheduled for September 28, 2020, at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
