Mercury rising in Midwestern Ontario

We are in for a stretch of hot weather this week.

There is a heat warning in effect with temperatures in the low to mid-30s nearly all week.

The mercury will peak Tuesday afternoon with the daytime high is expected to reach 35 C with a humidex of 38 C.

Public health officials are reminding everyone to take precautions in the heat including wearing loose-fitting clothing, drinking plenty of water, eat light meals with high water content like soups and vegetables, and limit outdoor activities to the early morning or later in the evening when its cooler.

Of course, you should also take more breaks if you are working in the heat, wear a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses, and never leave children, pets, or vulnerable people in cars.
