Suspicious incident in West Perth

Perth County OPP officers are investigating a suspicious incident that had occurred at a residence on Line 36, in the Municipality of West Perth on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, shortly after 9:00 p.m.

A news release from the OPP says officers determined that a man had attended a local hospital in Perth County with a serious injury. Initial information suggests it may have been a gunshot wound, but that has not been confirmed. The man was treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The release says police believe it is an isolated incident, and there is no threat to public safety.

Members of the Perth County Crime Unit are continuing to investigate and is seeking the public's assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information, they are being urged to contact the Perth County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
