UPDATE: Collision near Harriston claims life of Clifford man

A head-on collision between two pick-up trucks on Harriston Road, Huron County Road 87, has claimed the life of a 24-year-old Clifford man.

Huron OPP said the collision happened shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday near the Howick-Minto Townline.

Both Huron and Wellington County OPP officers responded along with Huron County Paramedics and Howick Fire Department crews.

One of the drivers was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver died at the scene. That driver has been identified as 24-year-old Brandon Cox of Clifford.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team also responded to the scene to conduct an investigation.

Harrison Road, Huron County Road 87, was closed from Malcolm Line and School Road 7 for a lengthy period but has now reopened.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call Huron OPP or Crime Stoppers.
