A virtual concert experience for Summerfolk fans

This weekend would have been the 45th annual Summerfolk Weekend in Owen Sound.

It's been cancelled, but the thousands of people who enjoy Summerfolk every year can take heart. Sunday evening they can watch and hear a live version online. Artistic Director James Keelaghan said they couldn't let the year go by without satisfying the fans.

"To keep the spirit alive and to let people know that the festival is still there even though it's not there physically but also we want people to have some music this weekend," said Keelaghan.

The musical lineup includes local favourites, award-winning artists from across Canada, and veteran Summerfolk performers. People are encouraged to make a party out of watching, ensuring safety measures while they do.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. Sunday and can be found on Facebook, YouTube and at Summerfolk.org.
