One person injured following recent collision at highway intersection

One person was injured following a recent collision at an intersection in Perth County.

On August 17 at 2:45 p.m., Perth County OPP, Perth County Paramedics and the North Perth Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision on Road 164 at Line 71, just south of Newry. The investigation found that an SUV was travelling north on Road 164 when it stopped to turn west onto Line 71. A pick-up truck, also going northbound on Road 164, failed to slow down and crashed into the back of the SUV.

The driver of the pick-up was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The pick-up driver, a 24-year-old Kincardine resident, has been charged with careless driving. The accused has a court date scheduled in Stratford at a later date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
