One person seriously injured following crash near Listowel

One person suffered serious injuries following a crash southwest of Listowel.

On August 26th at 12:30 a.m., Perth County OPP Perth County Paramedics and the North Perth Fire Department responded to a two vehicle collision on Line 81 at Road 169, just southwest of Listowel. The investigation revealed that a mini-van was travelling westbound on Line 81 when it was struck by a pick-up truck that had been travelling southbound on Road 169. The intersection is controlled by a stop sign in the north and south directions.

Both vehicles had one occupant, with both suffering injuries. The pick-up driver was airlifted to hospital by ORNGE Air Ambulance with life threatening injuries, the driver of the mini-van suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The roads were closed for most of the morning, but have since been reopened. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are anticipated. Anyone with any information regarding this collision is encouraged to contact Perth County OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
