Renovations spike in Wellington North

Wellington North is reporting a busy building year despite Covid 19

Chief Building Official Darren Jones says he is is seeing a real spike in home renovations such as decks and pools. He said the number of new homes is down a bit.

To the end of July, 139 permits were issued worth almost $23-million.

The ten-year average for that same period is 141 permits worth $18.5-million.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
