Police looking for witnesses to crash involving pedestrian

The Owen Sound Police Service is asking for anyone who witnessed a recent collision involving a pedestrian to come forward.

Sometime during the late afternoon on October 1, a collision occurred between a car and a pedestrian at the intersection of 5th Avenue East and 10th Street East in Owen Sound. Early police reports indicate that a black Honda Civic was stopped at the stop sign on 5th Avenue East, waiting for traffic on 10th Street to pass. The car attempted to make a right-hand turn and head east toward the 10th Street hill. A male pedestrian was walking on 10th Street westbound and began crossing the street into the path of the Honda Civic.

The matter remains under investigation. Police would like anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact the Owen Sound Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
