Arrest in Hanover drive-thru leads to the seizure of $20K and a shotgun

Police in Hanover have charged a Kitchener man after a brief struggle in a drive-thru.

The struggle at the Tim Horton's drive-thru on 10th Street Friday morning triggered numerous calls from nearby witnesses. Police also say an unidentified woman held her vehicle in line at the time of the arrest so the suspect couldn't flee.

During the arrest, police also seized $20,000 in cash and a 12-gauge shotgun.

It was later determined that the the 32-year old Kitchener man was wanted for multiple criminal and drug charges including firearms and drug trafficking offences in Kitchener and Calgary, Alberta.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
