Serving up safety in the kitchen during Fire Prevention Week

Fire departments across the area and the province are focusing on Fire Prevention Week.

This year's theme is "Serve Up Fire Safety in the Kitchen!".

The Ontario Fire Marshal's office is aimed at simple but important actions people can take to keep themselves and those around them, safe in the kitchen.

And according to the OFM, unattended cooking is the number one cause of fires in Ontario.

Part of Fire Prevention Week includes a social media campaign, sharing tips and resources to raise public awareness about the issue.
