Bruce County plans to maintain services and staffing despite lower revenue

The proposed 2021 budget for Bruce County is expected to maintain core service levels and current staffing, while addressing COVID-19.

The Corporate Services Department has presented council with a proposed 2021-2025 multi-year budget and forecast for review. For 2021, the proposed operating expenditures are reduced by $325,000.

However, proposed revenues drop by $2,764,894 overall due to reductions in federal and provincial funding.  Reserve funds are also being depleted, and certain grants have been discontinued.

Bruce County reports it will continue to deliver high quality municipal services like infrastructure improvements, family and housing supports, emergency paramedic services, economic development, and library and museum programming
