North Perth youth charged in air pistol incident

Police have charged a youth following an incident involving an air pistol in North Perth.

On October 10 just after 10:30 p.m., Perth County OPP officers responded to a residence on Davidson Avenue North in North Perth following reports that someone had been shot with an air pistol BB gun in the parking lot.

A 24-year-old Stratford resident suffered minor injuries as a result.

Police charged a 17-year-old North Perth youth with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon and failing to comply with a sentence.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer the charges.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
