Conducted energy weapon seized after assault in North Perth

Perth County Ontario Provincial Police seized a conducted energy weapon after an assault earlier this month.

On October 7, officers were called to a residence on Barber Avenue North in North Perth after a person was threatened with a conducted energy weapon.

A 30-year-old from Palmerston faces several charges, including assault with a weapon and possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer the charges.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
