Power Workers Union makes food bank donation

The Power Workers Union (PWU) has announced it is donating a total of $18,000 to 18 local Food Banks in the Grey/Bruce/Huron area.

The funds were recently approved through the PWU Bruce Site Equity Committee on behalf of the PWU Bruce Power members as part of their annual disbursements into the local communities.

In a release, the PWU said it is "pleased to be able to assist our local food banks in purchasing items that are in need for all of our community members to access."

The money will be distributed to the individual organizations over the coming days.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
