Stratford police recover stolen goods

Stratford police responded to a burglary after a homeowner returned and a suspect fled the property about 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police, and their K9, Jack, were able to track the suspect from the Louise Street home to a wooded area near Erie Street and Railway Avenue, where they found property taken from the residence.

Police reviewed video surveillance from local businesses, identified a possible suspect, who they later arrested at a south end motel.

A 25-year-old Stratford man is charged with fraud, break and enter and breach of probation.

Further investigation identified a 35- year-old Stratford man as a suspect, and he was also arrested. A search warrant conducted at the motel resulted in the discovery of a significant amount of stolen property, and suspected stolen property.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
