Police make arrest involving weapon

The Owen Sound Police Service made an arrest connected to a weapons-related incident.

On October 25, police were contacted after the suspect in question informed a friend they were barricading themselves in their motel room for fear people were looking for them. The suspect then FaceTimed the friend and showed what appeared to be a firearm. The friend immediately contacted Owen Sound police officers, who attended the motel and found the suspect ready to leave. A pellet rifle was seized from the motel room and the 38-year-old suspect was arrested.

The accused was bound by an undertaking condition that prohibited him from having the pellet rifle. He was charged with weapons dangerous and failing to comply with an undertaking. He was held for a bail hearing the following day.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
