Local wastewater and water systems in good financial shape

A report on Wellington North's water and waste water systems shows that both systems are in a strong financial position.

The report suggests a 1.5 per cent rate increase over the next five years, which would put them at about average for other similar systems. But council can still change the rates if it sees fit.

The financial plan takes into account everything from the replacement of infrastructure to dealing with the costs of a disaster or climate change.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
