Police seize weapons from N. Bruce Peninsula property

A police search of a Northern Bruce Peninsula property resulted in a man facing weapons charges.

Grey Bruce OPP Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Services executed a search warrant at a property on Walter Charman Drive near Stokes Bay.

They seized a rifle, handgun and ammunition.

A 54-year-old man is charged with possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm and two counts of breach of firearm regulations relating to the storage of the firearms.

The accused is due in Owen Sound court on January 7.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
