Police investigating hate crime following vandalism

Saugeen Shores Police Service and the Criminal Investigation and Drugs branch are investigating a hate crime in Port Elgin.

On November 2nd, police received a report that an unknown suspect or suspects had spray-painted racially motivated text and homophobic slurs on a number of structures at a location in Port Elgin. Police are reminding residents that hate crimes in any form have an extremely harmful effect on the community and groups that are the targets of hate crimes.

If anyone has any information regarding this crime, contact Saugeen Shores Police Service or Crime Stoppers. Hate crimes will not be tolerated by police and will be investigated seriously and diligently.
