COVID-19 cases grow in Midwestern Ontario

Huron Perth Public Health reported six new cases of COVID-19 Friday.

Three were in Stratford, and three in Perth East.

A COVID-19 outbreak continues at Cedarcroft Retirement Home in Stratford.  There are no long term care or school outbreaks.

There are a total of 64 active cases.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported 23 new cases of COVID-19 Friday and has 101 active cases. Wellington County had nine of those new cases for a current total of 33 active cases.

There are no school or daycare outbreaks, but several retirement and long term care homes have declared outbreaks, mostly due to one or two sick staff members. No residents are sick.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
