Hydro One crews battling winds to fix lines

Thousands remain without power this morning as a wind storm swept through Ontario.

Midwestern Ontario was hit hard as were southern areas of Ontario on Sunday affecting areas from Windsor east towards Ottawa.

Wind gusts exceeded 100 km/h in some areas of the province, along Lake Erie.

According to Hydro One's outage map, some estimated restoration times stretch into late Monday night, possibly 11 p.m.

At one point on Sunday, over 211,000 Hydro One customers were without power.

There are no wind warnings in effect anymore but the colder temperatures have certainly moved in.

We can expect a high of just 3 C on Monday \ and we will drop well into the minus side by Tuesday night, to -9 C.
