Police seeking person of interest following string of thefts

Huron County OPP are hoping the public can help identify a suspect following a string of recent thefts.

On November 15th sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., several Seaforth residents were victims of a thief.

The suspect entered several unlocked garages and vehicles, including getting into an unlocked charcoal grey, 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan and found a purse inside with the ignition key to the vehicle. The van was stolen, and the thief also stole a newer model Marlin 45/70 1895 dark series rifle valued at nearly $2,000 that was taken from an unlocked pickup truck that was parked nearby.

Police are looking for a person of interest shown in the below photo, who is described as being a male, of average build, wearing white pants, a black knapsack, black gloves, a dark hoody and black running shoes with white soles, possibly Nike.

Anyone who has any information should contact Huron County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
