SIU invokes mandate into collision in Perth East

Ontario's Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate after a collision last week in Perth East.

Perth County Ontario Provincial Police were called to a residential farm property on Perth Line 40, northeast of Stratford around 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 19th after a report of a suspicious person.

According to a release, during an interaction with police a collision occurred involving two unoccupied, fully-marked OPP cruisers, as well as a Sports Utility Vehicle.

The lone occupant of the SUV was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of the SIU invoking its mandate, there will be no further information provided by the OPP on this incident.
