North Perth Council gathering for first budget visioning session

North Perth Council will be sitting down tonight for their first budget visioning session for next year's municipal budget.

Mayor Todd Kasenberg says while COVID-19 has brought forth unforeseen challenges, he expects the deliberations to go as they normally would in pre-COVID years.

"We tend to look at the big ticket items first like capital projects and then come back and look at operations in a slightly later phase of this process. Bit we feel we're en route and on target."

Mayor Kasenberg says as always, council will be as responsible as possible with taxpayers money and do their best to continue to enhance North Perth. He says despite COVID-19, North Perth isn't in as dire a situation as some might think compared to larger municipalities.

"We have had some additional expenditures and yes, we have had some reduced revenues. But in the broad scope of COVID recovery, the province is helping us in an impressive way."
