Schools preparing virtual tours for the next group

Schools across Huron and Perth will be hosting virtual tours for students ready to move to the next step in their education.

The open houses will be for prospective Gr. 6 and 8 students and be held at several Avon-Maitland District School Board schools.

The virtual events will include videos and other resources for families.

The dates of the orientations vary and each school will have specific details of their events on their respective websites, including times and itinerary:

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
