South Bruce Peninsula mayor is next warden of Bruce County

Bruce County has a new Warden.

South Bruce Peninsula Mayor Janice Jackson will take over the chair from Huron-Kinloss mayor Mitch Twolan.

Jackson won on the first ballot against Twolan to serve a one year term.

"We have growing issues in our region that we absolutely have to address," said Jackson. "And I think we have to look at more affordable housing and support for our families. So I think really think that's going to be focus of 2021."

Beyond that, Jackson says there are some needs when it comes to infrastructure.

"I think we really need to go back and really focus on the basics," said Jackson. "And those things are roads and bridges and are always top of mind for all of our residents."
