UPDATE:OPP investigating fatal car crash in Huron County

Update at 3pm

A Huron County resident passed away following a collision north of Goderich just after 11:00 this morning.

Huron County OPP officers and Huron County paramedics responded to a single vehicle crash located on Bluewater Highway just north of Goderich to find a pickup truck that had left the roadway and collided with the guard rail on the bridge.

The driver, a 68-year-old from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh was transported to hospital by ambulance and was later pronounced deceased.

The subsequent investigation has determined the deceased died as a result of a medical event not from injuries sustained in the crash.

Bluewater Veteran's Highway (Highway 21) has since re-opened.

Huron County OPP are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision at the north end of Goderich.

Highway 21 is temporarily closed between Gloucester Terrace and Saltford Road as of noon Wednesday.

Further details will be provided once they become available.
