The new Huron County Out of the Cold: Heart to Home emergency shelter has been up and running for almost a month.
The new shelter opened November 16th, and the county is thanking the many contributions from businesses and individuals who helped get the shelter up and running to address the homelessness issue in Huron County. The shelter still has some items they are in need of, including hygiene products like soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, socks, and underwear and other gently used clothes, including hats, mittens and towels. You can also drop off new, unopened items like hygiene products at the Huron County Library branches during regular hours, and gently used items can be dropped off at Goodwill Community Store & Donation Centre at 355 Bayfield Road in Goderich, or the Salvation Army Thrift Store at 309 Suncoast Drive East in Goderich during regular business hours.
