Local students help decorate Central Huron park

Central Huron Community Improvement Coordinator enlisted the help of students to decorate the front of the Clinton town hall and the Albert Street Park across the street from the town hall last week.

Angela Smith explains the decorating of the front of the town hall had been done by a staff member in the past.

"Decorating the front was always done by Bev Marriage and she's retired, so I reached out to the Cornerstone Schoolhouse to see if the children would like to come out and decorate. So they were here the other day, helping me."

Smith says the Albert Street Park, across the street from the town hall was actually built by students from Central Huron Secondary School after a fire destroyed the building that was there four years ago. She says they built the park and the benches and last week students from St. Anne's Catholic School came out to decorate it.

"They all came together to build the park, build the benches and yesterday they came out and helped me decorate. So we've put lights in all of the trees and strung out the extension cords and it really brightens things up."
