Health unit declares outbreak at Normanby Community School in Ayton

Even though schools are out for Christmas break, the Grey Bruce Health Unit has declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at Normanby Community School in Ayton.

On Monday, the unit identified one confirmed case at the school and on Tuesday a second case was reported with evidence there was transmission within the building.

In a release the health unit says they are the lead on all outbreaks and case management and will let anyone know if they are a close contact with someone who has COVID-19.

Anyone who is determined as a close contact by the health unit will be contacted within 24 hours.
