Owen Sound Police have busy New Year's Eve

The Owen Sound Police Service had a busy night on New Year's Eve.

Police were called at 11:15 p.m. on New Year's Eve to respond to a noise complaint and potential breach of the Reopening Ontario Act at an east side apartment complex.

During the investigation a 19-year-old male assaulted a police officer. He was arrested and charged with assault police, breaching the Reopening Ontario Act and further charged under the noise bylaw. The accused was later released on an undertaking and 2 Provincial Act summons with a February court date.

In all, Owen Sound Police officers made 5 arrests and had a warrant sought for another person. Police laid a total of 12 charges on New Year's Eve in Owen Sound.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
