Essential Caregivers can return to Bruce County Long Term Care Homes

Essential Caregivers can return to Bruce County Long Term Care Homes starting on Friday, after a two week pause.

Essential Caregivers visiting Brucelea Haven in Walkerton and Gateway Haven in Wiarton must demonstrate that they have received a negative COVID-19 test at intervals specified in provincial mandates and the care community’s surveillance testing policy, which currently is every 7 days.

On-site swabbing was available for Essential Caregivers at Brucelea Haven Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and will be available at Gateway Haven on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Virtual visiting opportunities also continue at both homes.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
