UPDATE: Police investigating serious crash near Palmerston, road reopens

**Updated as of 12:32 p.m., January 7th, 2021**

Wellington County OPP continue to investigate a serious morning crash near Palmerston.

On January 7th at 9 a.m., a patrolling OPP officer came upon the aftermath of a serious crash between two motor vehicles at the intersection of Wellington Road 8 at Wellington Road 9 just south of Palmerston. A passenger van and pick-up truck were involved, and both vehicles had rolled over, trapping two occupants. Mapleton Fire and Rescue helped extricate the occupants. Three people have been transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, and an ORNGE air ambulance had to attend the scene.

The intersection of Wellington Road 8 at Wellington Road 9 has now reopened as of 12:15 p.m., confirmed by Wellington County OPP. Anyone who may have witnessed this collision is encouraged to contact Wellington County OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
