Vaccine rollout in Huron, Perth still unknown

There is still no timeline on when the COVID-19 vaccine will arrive in Huron and Perth.

But Huron Perth Public Health officials continue to prepare for it and and there have been local healthcare workers who have received the vaccine through a partnership with the Middlesex London Health Unit and Southwestern Public Health. And there continues to be a good uptake of workers being vaccinated through Phase One of the distribution plan. That is focusing on those working in a long-term care or retirement home setting.

Several long-term care and retirement homes continue to follow outbreak protocols.

That includes Hillside Manor and Knollcrest in Perth East, Seaforth Manor in Huron East, Livingstone Manor in North Perth, Braemar Nursing Home in North Huron and Exeter Villa in South Huron, both the long-term care and retirement home.

More meetings did take place Thursday to plan for the vaccine rollout locally, using the ethical framework and prioritizing populations as set by the province.
