OPP officers investigating fatal crash near The Blue Mountains

OPP officers from Collingwood and The Blue Mountains are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash which took place on Poplar Sideroad.

The collision took place Sunday at approximately 8:00 p.m. when an east bound GMC pickup crossed the center line and collided head on with a west bound Volkswagen sedan.

The driver of the GMC was transported to local hospital with minor injuries however the driver of the Volkswagen, a 37 year-old male from Wasaga Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The roadway was closed for a number of hours as OPP Traffic Collision Investigators were called in to assist with the investigation. The roadway has since reopened and investigation is ongoing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
