First two residents in Huron, Perth get vaccinated

Residents at two long-term care homes in Huron and Perth counties received the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine this week.

Residents at Spruce Lodge Long-Term Care Home in Stratford and Seaforth Manor Long-Term Care Home and Retirement Community received their first doses of the vaccine.

The focus is to get the vaccine to vulnerable populations in Huron and Perth first that are at the greatest risk of COVID-19 and severe illness.

The distribution of vaccines to long-term care residents fits with Phase One of Ontario’s distribution plan and public health is working with the Huron Perth Mass Vaccination Advisory Committee.
