Schools in Grey, Bruce to open Monday

Elementary and secondary schools in Grey and Bruce will re-open on Monday.

The province says that's based on the most recent data and the recommendation from the Chief Medical Officer of Health.

But as students return to class in the Bluewater and Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Boards, there are some extra measures.

Those include students in Grades 1 to 3 are now also required to wear masks on the bus and at school.

There will be targeted voluntary COVID-19 testing is being expanded for students, staff, and their respective households.

And students are asked not to congregate before and after school.

As for students in Huron, Perth and Wellington, they will continue on-line learning until further notice. The province did not give a timeline on when a decision will be made to re-open those schools.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
