Women's House accepting nominations for Woman of Distinction Awards

Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey will partner with Bruce County this year to present the annual International Women's Day celebration on Tuesday, March 8th.

As part of the annual celebration, Women's House is now accepting nominations for their Women of Distinction Awards. This year's virtual online event will feature two awards categories, Woman of Distinction Award and the Young Woman of Distinction Award. Nominators can submit a 200 word outline/biography explaining why someone should be considered for the Women of Distinction awards. Nominations for the annual Woman and Young Woman of Distinction Awards will be accepted until February 15th, 2021 at 4:00pm.

Anyone wishing to submit nominations can send them by mail to Michelle Lamont, Community & Fund Development Coordinator for Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey, at Box 760, Kincardine, ON, N2Z 2Z4, by email at mlamont@whsbg.on.ca or by fax at (519) 396-7800. Due to COVID-19, email is preferred.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
