Probable case of COVID-19 reported in Dundalk school

The Grey Bruce Health Unit has reported a probable case of COVID-19 with a childcare centre within a Dundalk school.

A single probable case was identified in association with a cohort with Kids Club Before and After school childcare program at Highpoint Community School in Dundalk, Ontario.

A probable case means the individual has a link to a positive case, is symptomatic, and has not yet been tested.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit said in a statement Saturday that although the cases are linked to a childcare centre and the school, their assessment so far has found no evidence of transmission within those environments.

The person with COVID-19 has been contacted directly by the COVID-19 Case and Contact Management Team.

All individuals that need to be notified have already been contacted. Anyone who has not been contacted does need to take additional steps.

There are currently no outbreaks in any schools or childcare centres in Grey Bruce.
