OSSTF local president shares concern about class sizes

The President of District 8 of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation says secondary school teachers in Huron and Perth continue to be concerned about class sizes and students returning to the classroom.

Shane Restall says some secondary school classes in Huron and Perth have as many as 32 students and that makes two metre distancing impossible.

"When you think of having that many students in a secondary school classroom, there's no way that the two metres of distancing can be followed. It's just impossible with so many bodies. And it's frustrating when the Minister says classes are at 15 and that's not the reality in Huron and Perth counties," said Restall.

Students across the Avon Maitland District School board returned to class this past Monday.
